Connecting the Skywalker PKF-1KG to HiBean via Bluetooth

What You'll Need

1. Skywalker PKF-1KG Roaster

Roaster: PKF-1KG Skywalker

I purchased mine from Amazon here in the U.S.

2. ESP32-S3 Development Board

Quantity: 1

Model: ESP32-S3-DEVKITC-1

DigiKey:

---

3. USB-C Splitter

Quantity: 1

Amazon:

---

4. USB-C Power Supply / Charger

Quantity: 1

A standard USB-C power supply is needed to power the setup.

Firmware Setup

5. Download the "Bear" Firmware

Download the Bear firmware for the ESP32 from GitHub.

At the time of this post, the current version is 2.6.

---

6. Install the Firmware

Flash/install the downloaded Bear firmware onto the ESP32-S3-DEVKITC-1.

Once the firmware has been successfully installed, the ESP32 can act as the Bluetooth interface between the Skywalker roaster and HiBean.

---

HiBean Setup

7. Download and Install HiBean

Download and install the HiBean application on your device.

HiBean:

https://www.hibean.fun/en/

After installation, configure HiBean to connect to the ESP32 Bluetooth interface.
